Growing up, I was never what you would call a "preppy girl". Something about that type of style always rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it's the WASP-ey, superior attitude associated with prepsters. Maybe it's because I'd rather wear a garbage bag than hideous cable knit anything...barf.
Even though preppy clothing isn't my favorite, I must admit it has dramatically improved over the years. Nowadays designers have transformed preppy styles into classic pieces for the masses, not just for those who summer in the Hampton's.
